GEORGIOS GIANNAKOPOULOS MD, PhD.

Georgios Giannakopoulos is an Associate Professor of Child Psychiatry at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He holds a degree from the Medical School of NKUA (2003), is a graduate of the interdisciplinary Postgraduate Program "Health Promotion and Education" of the Medical School and the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy, and Psychology of NKUA (2006), a Ph.D. from the Medical School of NKUA (2011), and a holder of the medical specialty title in Child Psychiatry (2011).

He has worked in various educational, research, and clinical settings. Since 2020, he has been serving as a faculty member in the University Child Psychiatry Clinic at the "Aghia Sophia" Children's Hospital. He teaches at both undergraduate and postgraduate programs and provides clinical work as the head of the Inpatient Unit.

He has participated in national and transnational funded research programs and numerous national and international conferences with presentations and announcements. His publications include more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed, foreign and Greek, scientific journals and collective volumes. His research interests focus on psychometrics, traumatic stress, the interactions of physical and mental health and quality of life of children and parents, psychotherapy, and qualitative research.
